What to Say in the Thank You Notes You Send to Your Customers

thank you notes Apr 15, 2019

Every time a customer places an order with you in your direct sales business, you should thank her. A handwritten thank you note is the best way to do this. Here are suggestions of what to write in the thank you notes you'll send to your customers.

Outline for a Thank You Note for Orders (you can write these sentences in any order you choose)

  1. Reason for the note.
  2. Something about the party or the product.
  3. Something personal about the recipient.

Repeat Customer Order

Thank you for your order. I appreciate your loyalty and know that you're going to love that scent. Please let me know if you have any questions about your candles.

You might be thinking about setting up a minimum order requirement to make it worth your time to send handwritten thank you notes. I get it. The cost of the card and postage might be more than your commission from some sales. If you made a big purchase, the thank you note you got might have been expected, but imagine the impact of getting a thank you note for a small purchase. You’d know that that business owner takes her business seriously, and I bet you’d be more likely to choose her site the next time you want to order.

Order from an Unknown Customer

Thank you for your (company’s name) order. You picked one of my favorite products. I hope you love it as much as I do. Please let me know if you have questions or if there is anything I can do to serve you.

This customer didn’t come into your shoppe, so she didn’t get to meet you. The handwritten thank you note introduces her to the excellent customer service that you offer.

First Auto-ship Order

Thank you for signing up for our auto-ship program and welcome to the VIP family. You’re going to love the benefits and the savings. Please let me know if I can do anything to make your auto-ship even better for you.

Auto-ship customers should be treated like VIPs, and yes, you should send them a note every time they get an auto-ship.

Cheering for you,
Kelly
